Learn the real truth behind zoning and how it affects each one of us in Oconee County. You may not feel threatened yet that zoning is coming to your neighborhood, but it will come sooner or later.

• Do you know the meaning of buzz words such as Smart Growth, Sustainable Development, Agenda 21, Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Future Land Use Map, and the Oconee County 2028 Vision Plan?
• Who are the NGOs behind zoning? Are you familiar with the Oconee Alliance, Advocates for Quality Development (AQD), Mountain Lakes Community Association (MLCA), Upstate Forever, and Ten at the Top?
• Where does zoning come from? What’s behind zoning? Who really benefits from zoning?
• Will your property be considered to be “grandfathered” when you sell it? Will you be able to hand it down to your children when you pass away?  Or will your property be heavily encumbered by County Government Regulations?
